Though The Misadventures of Belle & Chloe is intended for younger readers, dog lovers of all ages are sure to enjoy these true vignettes of one family’s life with a pair of enthusiastic chocolate labs. A handful of simple black-and-white cartoons illustrate the stories from the chaos ensues when one’s den has two labs and a squirrel inside it, to why simply walking two enthusiastic labs around the block can be a borderline dangerous adventure. A chuckle-inducing delight to page through; the humor sinks in particularly well if the reader is already a pet owner!

My name is Ashtyn and Mr.Walker gave his book to my Grandma Kris and Grandpa Steve. Then my Grandma Kris said I was getting my own. I was so happy. It is a great book for everybody to read. The stories of Belle and Chloe made me laugh out loud. It is a great family book and I would recommend reading it. I have been a dog lover all my life so it was the perfect book for me. I have a Rescued Greyhound named Nova and a Brittany Spaniel named Lexi. Doyle Walker is a great author. Ashtyn Gerhart.

This book should come with a warning label because it is chalked full of hilarious short stories that will tickle your funny bone. Life with two classy, lovable labs–it doesn’t get any better than that! From beginning to end I laughed and cried. This whimsical book kept me in stitches. To put it simply, “Doyle is a natural”. I couldn’t put the book down, the short stories came alive as if I was actually there. It’s only a matter of time before Hollywood is knocking on Doyle’s door. This book is on its way of becoming a timeless classic. My children which consists of 4 Pembroke Welsh Corgis, 1 Yorkshire Terrier, 1 Toy Fox Terrier and 1 crazy Caique gave their 5-star “paw of approval” (yes, I read the entire book to them). I can’t say enough about this adorable book except read it and make it a part of your growing library today.

I have been an animal lover for well over 55 years..at just 4 years old, I was known to kidnap a dog or two from our neighborhood, put a rope around the collar and drag the little doggie home only to announce to my parents, “this poor lost dog just followed me home…can we keep ‘em”. The Misadventures of Belle & Chole brought back many memories of the dogs that have been a huge part of my life. The Memorial Day Picnic reminded me of Thanksgiving 1983 when Buffy and Maggie (Brittany Spaniel and a mut) made off with a 24 pound turkey from the kitchen table after our guests had but one serving! The Christmas Lights, Squirrel in the Flowerbead and the Duck stories were all “big laugh out loud” moments. As two oldtimers who are recently retired, we found the book endless in humor with lots of laughs and by the end of the book wanting MORE!!! Thanks Doyle for sharing Belle & Chloe with us.
